My Appearance

A well-known proverb says that first impressions are half the battle. It means that when we see a person for the first time, we always estimate his or her appearance and clothes, and then manners and character. And only after we spend much time together with this person, we begin to understand his inner world, his real thoughts and feelings. That is why I think, those, who say that appearance doesn’t matter at all, are slightly insincere. Of course, height and weight are not the most crucial things on Earth, but sometimes they really matter. For example, when you are applying for a prestigious job, your appearance may play a decisive role.

As for my appearance, I do not consider myself neither ugly nor exceptional beauty. In my opinion, I look quite usual, although my friends often say I'm cute. But first of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Vika, I'm a second year student at the University. I'm twenty years old. I'm average height – 165 cm. I can't say that I'm thin. But personally, I think that I have a normal figure, and I don't want to be skinny.

The natural color of my hair blonde, but 5 years ago I decided to become a blonde. My mother told me of a hairdresser. She offered me the highlights. She gave an introduction to particular strands in my hair and then toned them to make the color more even. Now I'm almost platinum blonde. Friends say that with an updated hair color, I became much brighter and prettier.

If we talk about facial features, I'm more like mother than father. I have a round face, plump lips, green eyes and long eyelashes. Now I have straight hair, but when I was little, they are slightly Curling up, like my father. For a long time I cut bangs, and now go without it.

I also want to tell you a bit about my favorite outfit. Since I'm not very tall, I like high-heeled shoes. I have quite slim legs so I can afford mini-skirts and short dresses. Of course, like any girl of twenty, I have my favorite comfy jeans that go perfectly with many things – from plaid shirts and sweaters to elegant tops and blouses. I prefer bright colors such as pink, blue, purple, but I do not like brown and green shades.

 

Of course, beauty is a relative concept, but overall, I was satisfied with its appearance. Sometimes looking in the mirror, I notice that I resemble mom more and more. I think it's good. My mother is forty and she still looks very good. And I hope I'll look as well.
